Killer Whale Fin, carved on red cedar, by Fife Artist Len Talbott.

Approximately 27.25" x 6.5" x 12"

Statement from the artist, Len Talbott:

"I began NW Coast carving in 1973 under the guidance of Harvey Ky Honen, a well know carver who had spent time in Alaska teaching the art to Native students. Some of his work was displayed in the past Washington State History Museum location by the Tacoma Arts Commission.

I work with both red and yellow cedar using traditional and standard carving tools. My work includes reliefs, canoe paddles, totem poles, dance masks, ladels, fish clubs and halibut hooks.

I try to adhere to the traditional forms and designs that govern the Northwest Coast Indian art."
