COLUMBIA: The Magazine of Northwest History

Published for members since 1987, the Washington State Historical Society’s quarterly journal, COLUMBIA: The Magazine of Northwest History, came into being as an extension of the Society’s efforts to promote interest in and educate people about Washington’s history. Featuring lavishly illustrated articles by leading writers and scholars in the field on a wide spectrum of historical topics, Columbia examines the continuing dialogue between past and present as well as the relationship between local or state history and the broad pattern of regional or national events. Each issue includes commentaries and book reviews, plus historical photographs, maps, drawings, paintings and ephemera, often from the Society’s own collections.
